Fresh from the cooker comes the 5th edition of Gaia-X Magazine – with Dynamo inside. This magazine promises an interesting journey from deploying Gaia-X Digital Clearing Houses and creating new hubs across Europe, to collaborating and success stories with Gaia-X members and partners.

A lighthouse usually brings guidance and hope to those navigating troubled seas. Dynamo, the European Cloud Alternative, became, since its foundation, a perfect model of such a lighthouse for ‘cloud navigators’ in the often-intricate digital waters, a voice to raise concerns in rough times for the industry’s many Cloud Service Providers.

Europe has been waiting for far too long for a real European alternative to the high concentration of hyperscalers to allow for more choice and innovation, as well as for European trusted and sovereign solutions. The regulatory effort of the institutions has produced high expectations to regain control over the market, yet the market share of European providers has been dwindling even further going soon against zero, thus leaving our future economy in control of a handful of non-European companies.

Being a Gaia-X Lighthouse, Dynamo aims to become a Lighthouse for Europe and the catalyst for collaboration between multiple suppliers. Our paramount priority is to achieve growing business, unity and collaboration, leveraging on transparency and interoperability as a competitive value, in times when fragmentation and lack of trust in dominant digital platforms leave European digital market operators alone in fighting the risks coming from the lack of scale of any individual company, and the limited ability to invest in the development of their ecosystem.

Why is Dynamo different from other initiatives?

Dynamo is the first real commercial federation across European-only Cloud and Digital Service Providers, implementing the new concept of a Cloud Virtual Service Provider to foster European data sovereignty and innovation. The Dynamo Platform automates the processes necessary to make multiple Cloud Service Providers as if they were all part of the same virtual single provider, thus augmenting their portfolio by leveraging on a shared pool of offering, whilst preserving the value of their proximity to the customers and independence in the market.
