On March 5th, 2025, at the Dynamo Cloud Business Forum (#DCBF) in Milan, a groundbreaking initiative was unveiled: the launch of the Sovereign European Cloud API (SECA)! This moment marked a significant leap toward enhancing Europe’s cloud independence and reducing reliance on non-European providers – and a wide press coverage echoes our joint press release, dispatched together with IONOS and Aruba Cloud.
Let’s highlight some key messages and press insights here.
What makes SECA so new and innovative:
Why SECA Matters:
As Europe strives to assert digital sovereignty, the need for a robust, independent cloud infrastructure has never been more urgent. SECA directly addresses this challenge by offering:
✅ Seamless workload mobility – Eliminating vendor lock-in and empowering businesses with greater flexibility.
✅ Enhanced multicloud interoperability – A crucial step toward the vision of a unified EuroStack.
✅ Compliance with EU regulations – Designed to align with European data governance and security standards.
✅ Free and open access – SECA is available to all European cloud service providers, fostering a collaborative ecosystem.
Sovereign APIs, like SECA, establish a de-facto standard, driven by large providers like IONOS and Aruba, to build uniform access and control of data by those that will adopt it. A strong handshake of trust between customers and providers. We are proud to be part of the SECA initiative and excited to announce it today at the Dynamo Cloud Business Forum in Milan.
