BlogpostDynamo attending Data Spaces Symposium 2025
Over the past two days, we explored how data spaces can shape Europe's digital future—provided that collaboration and sustainable business models are in place. Some takeaways deeply resonate with what we are building at Dynamo.
DSS 2025, the annual Data Spaces Symposium, has come to a close! Once again hosted by the Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC) and the Data Spaces Business Alliance, this premier event took place in Warsaw on March 11-12. Under the theme “Share Data. Unlock Value. Boost Impact,” the symposium highlighted the transformative potential of data sharing, unlocking new business opportunities, and driving innovation across Europe.

Much of the discussion focused on the role of data spaces within the ecosystem—not just as a technical solution, but as a strategic enabler for various EU initiatives and projects. While progress is being made, concrete challenges remain, such as investing in the understanding and dissemination of data spaces’ role, showcasing the real-world impact of data spaces, and proving their scalability and transformative potential across various sectors.
Dynamo’s CRO, Enrico Fossati, attended the two days of discussions and shared with us some takeaways that deeply resonate with what we are building at Dynamo:
1️⃣ Market-Driven Innovation is Essential
Only clear business value creation can drive data-sharing initiatives. What’s become evident here is that organizations will only participate in Data Spaces when there’s tangible ROI. Without market relevance, even well-funded projects collapse once the funding ends. This validates Dynamo’s market-focused approach to cloud—we’re building solutions that address real business needs rather than theoretical constructs or foreseeing a (project) expiration date.
2️⃣ Standardization Unlocks Ecosystem Value
The symposium reinforced that standardization is the foundation of effective data exchange. Without common standards, data sharing remains fragmented and complex – maybe impossible. This perfectly aligns with Dynamo’s work with leading European cloud providers on the Sovereign European Cloud API (#SECA)—creating standardized interfaces that enable genuine interoperability in the cloud ecosystem.

3️⃣ AI Readiness Requires Robust Data Infrastructure
A compelling theme today was how data spaces are foundational for AI readiness. As AI systems require vast amounts of quality data, competitive advantage in AI hinges on robust data infrastructure. Dynamo’s cloud federation approach creates the sovereign foundation necessary for organizations to securely store, process, and share the data that will power next-generation AI solutions—maintaining control of strategic data assets while enabling innovation.
What’s clear is that whether it’s for data spaces, cloud infrastructure, or AI development, we need fewer theoretical concepts and more market-ready solutions that deliver 📍 real 📍 business value through standardization and interoperability.
The Data Spaces Symposium 2025 is a European event dedicated to advancing data spaces, fostering data sovereignty, and enabling seamless data sharing across sectors. Organised by the Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC) and the Data Spaces Business Alliance, this edition took place during the Polish ICT Week.
