Mario Draghi described his recent Report on the Future of European Competitiveness as “urgent and concrete”, in a joined press conference with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von den Leyen.

The future of European competitiveness report – also known as the “Draghi Report” – explores strategic actions to boost growth in the European Union (EU). The report proposes focusing on four objectives:

  • Boosting innovation, particularly in high technology
  • Adopting a new industrial strategy, combining multiple policies (tax, trade, and foreign policy) and reforming competition law to facilitate mergers of European corporations
  • Financing investment, in particular by reducing the fragmentation of capital markets, finalising the banking union and relaunching securitisation
  • Reforming decision-making by reducing regulatory flow and simplifying implementations

We, at Dynamo, salute his Report on The Future of European Competitiveness and continue to reemphasize the fact that, without a concrete vehicle to accelerate the European relaunch, the European Cloud Service Providers will be forced to incrementally dismiss their assets or convert their business to non-European service reseller, in order to survive. The Draghi Report emphasizes the need to prioritize the strategic interests of European industry. What better time to assess its flagship projects, those still to be launched, and engage in discussions about the future of European (cloud and AI) market development?

European Cloud Operators (CSP, ISV, MSP) and, more broadly, European industry players, face challenges in competing individually due to limited resources and the absence of a unified representative organization to protect their interests and advocate for their position in the market.
Dynamo provides both a solution and a powerful voice for these stakeholders!

In October 2024, we shared a series on our LinkedIn and YouTube channel, highlighting five key topics that we believe are crucial for our community:

The ‘Mario Draghi Report,’ presented to the European Commission, outlined strategies to accelerate Europe’s clean and digital transition, foster skills development, and enhance resilience to ensure long-term growth. It also featured a range of actionable recommendations and critical data points.

Now, it is essential for the European Commission, European countries, and organizations to embrace his recommendations and develop an action plan for swift adoption. Time is of the essence.
